Avery's goes back to 1949. It was run by 3 generations of the Avery family. Charles Avery ran it who turned it over to his son Bill. It closed in 2008. It had been a favorite in the community with some of the employees working there for decades. It was also frequented by visiting skiers to the area. The building was demolished to make way for what is now a Dollar General as of 2023.
