Sip-N-Nip is not to be confused with Nip-N-Sip, which has an outlet in Lansing. Sip-N-Nip had multiple locations in Battle Creek. There was one at 245 Elm St. and 608 Columbia Ave in addition to this one. I am not sure if it was a small franchise chain or not. None are left standing, but I did find a 2012 street view of the Emmet St location that might have been the original building.
The first outlet was opened by Robert W. Jackson in 1947 and he is credited with opening the first drive-in restaurant in Battle Creek. 2 years after, he moved on and operated Addie's Restaurant and Drive-In. The last mention I found of Sip-N-Nip being open was from 1974. It was an article regarding a robbery at the Emmet St location.
