I attended the opening night show at the Silverdome in 2003. It had been a long dry spell of new drive-ins opening so I really wanted to like it. In retrospect, it just didn't have the feel of a proper drive-in. I remember the parking lot was pitched for drainage and my car was a bit uneven sideways looking at the screen. The lack of ramps made seeing the screen harder, particularly if you wanted to view the movie in a chair outside of your vehicle.
Sitting on pavement as opposed to grass isn't that great either. The snack bar was basically a food trailer and was quite a walk to get to. Overall, I gave the owners credit for trying but it really never came together for me. The Silverdome and everything involving it was a white elephant from day one. The joint was cursed in a way. Now the site of an Amazon fulfillment center. The screens were sold to the Memory Lane Drive-in in Monroe.
