Update 12-30-2022: I have added an additional aerial photo of an access road that went from River Rd to the motel. That road does not exist as of 2022. It was closed down by 1981 and has since become overgrown with vegetation.
This place was quite nice when it opened in the late 1940's. The owners were Chester and Fay Allemier who passed away in 1998 and 1996 respectively. They were acquaintances of John and Mary Magocs, who owned the Capri Drive-In about 1/3 mile down the street.
In the early days it included a restaurant, which the owner would lease to others as the classified ads below indicate. You can see on the 1955 aerial photo below the structures of what seem to be the gas station and restaurant in front of the place as depicted in the color postcard. Those were later torn down by the 1970's.
Eventually the place changed hands over they years. It operated as the Coach Lite Manor, Best Western, then became part of the Econo Lodge Chain. It fell into disrepair and operated as a Rodeway Inn until it burned in 2015. Toward the end it was known for drug activity and petty crime. It was razed and now sits as an empty lot.
