This facility was built in 1908 for $30K by E.D. Stair, a wealthy Detroit businessman who spent his childhood in Morenci. This was just one of the many developments he built in the town. One of the others was a gymnasium for kids, yet another was a library. The Stair Auditorium was used for live entertainment, political events, showing films and other gatherings over the years. I am still researching what became of the place.
